The Palazzo, built by the noble Foscarini family (who gave the city of Venice one of the last important Doges and a great man of letters) in the second half of the sixteenth century and remained their property until the fall of the Republic, overlooks the Santa Margherita canal and the beautiful facade of the church of Santa Maria dei Carmini and still retains notable artistic and architectural features, evidence of its important history, which are present both on the exterior of the building and inside its individual apartments.
The Palazzo Foscarini apartment has its entrance in the beautiful internal courtyard, which is accessed by a large arch, and overlooks the park on one side and the characteristic small vegetable gardens/gardens of the neighboring buildings on the other. The
elegant small building of the "Biblioteca Foscarini", built by the doge-man of letters in the mid-eighteenth century, at the time of the last important restoration and expansion of the entire Palazzo, acts as a backdrop to the renowned park.
