The area where our apartments are located (the Dorsoduro district) is particularly renowned and appreciated by both Venetians and visitors, both for the presence of nearby historic buildings and monuments, and for the lively social, economic and relational life that takes place there.
Furthermore, the proximity of this area to the arrival points of the city, but also to the central part of the Grand Canal (between Rialto and the Accademia), make this location absolutely strategic for those who want to comfortably reach and live an authentically Venetian experience in the heart of the city of water.
Palazzo Foscarini and Corte Foscarini overlook the Rio di Santa Margherita and Campo dei Carmini, which are part of the famous area of Santa Margherita, a place very popular with Venetians and young people, famous for its outdoor cafes and restaurants and for its authentic vitality.
The area is equipped with various services: pharmacies, banks, post office, supermarkets and various shops, doctor. From an artistic point of view, in addition to the Scuola and Church of the Carmini (Tiepolo, Lotto, Cima etc.) you are close to the Museums of Cà Rezzonico (Venetian eighteenth century), the Gallerie dell'Accademia, Palazzo.
Among the obligatory stops are Piazza San Marco with the Basilica di San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale, symbols of the ancient power of the Serenissima. A visit to the Galleria dell'Accademia to admire Venetian art, and to the Museo Correr to learn about the history of Venice, is also highly appreciated.
A Venetian classic is a gondola ride through the canals, a romantic and evocative experience. A cheaper but equally fascinating alternative is the vaporetto (public water transport), which offers a panoramic tour along the Grand Canal.
Nearby islands like Murano, famous for its glass art, and Burano, known for its colorful houses and lace, offer different experiences from central Venice. Torcello, with its ancient monuments and rural tranquility, is also an interesting stop.
